So far it's been smooth sailing having him here. He sleeps in a lot which is fine, it's kind of like vacation for him. Apparently the air here is much better than what he's used to back home so that's helping him sleep.
It's a little awkward, Doc hasn't seen his father in 5 years and back then they weren't really speaking. I wish they would just take an afternoon and get it all out but they are boys so that's not going to happen. The good news is that he hasn't had a drink in 16 months and he's totally okay with me having my wine once the baby comes (priorities right?). He also only smokes one or two cigarets a day which he does outside with a coat just for smoking that he leaves out there. I would rather there be no smoking but it is what it is. I haven't smelled smoke in my house so that's all I really care about.
TC has really taken to him, she met him once when she was 4 months old but obviously she doesn't remember. The other day he took her to the playground and she had no issues going with just him. Yesterday Doc and I went to the hospital and left her home. It was only for a few hours for his MRI and so I could preregister with L&D, she cried when we left but had a great time. She did push her limits and was allowed to eat her breakfast in the living room with the TV on, but if grandpa can't give you special treats who can? Obviously it has to be within limits but so far it's been perfect, he gave her a Hershey kiss at the company family Christmas party and it was like a fun little secret between them. If he lets her play with knives I'll have a problem.
