i should just get him black nail polish

My dog is so emo! He's been in a funk since Doc left...I know it's a broken record with him but it makes me so sad! I've done things to try to cheer him him, (dog park yesterday, nice long walk today) but it only works for a bit. Only another week, Moses then daddy will be home and will
have 2 weeks of leave to hang out with you.

In uterus news, I am still pregnant! I know I shouldn't talk like that but I can't help it, I'm nervous. Also, I am still pissed about my mother. I can't get her out of my head! Even though she doesn't read this (thank God) look at this mom!

Baby

8 pounds

Placenta

2-3 pounds

Amniotic fluid

2-3 pounds

Breast tissue

2-3 pounds

Blood supply

4 pounds

Fat stores for delivery and breastfeeding

5-9 pounds

Uterus increase

2-5 pounds

Total

25 to 35 pounds

Ugh, she's a douche bag...but you know what is pissing me off? Let's say that somehow I do only gain 15lbs she be like "I told you so." I am the only one out of her four daughters who has never had a weight problem...sure I fluctuate up to 15lbs ever now and then but all of my sisters are, or have been, very over weight.

OK I am done talking about it. I need to let it go. She's not worth all of this energy.

Oh and FYI I'm on day 2 of the 30 day plan of Wii Active (EA Sports) and I LOVE it!! Such a good work out. Tomorrow is a scheduled off day so that's good too, my muscles need to rest.

thanks!

It really means a lot to me that everyone is so excited for Doc and me and that you agree that my mother is crazy. These last few days have been a roller coaster. If it was possible I am even more emotional than ever (as it was I cry watching Folgers commercials) . I have been tearing up at everything, I think Doc not being around has something to do with it.

I am wondering a few things:

-I am burping like it's my job, just a coincidence?

-My cat box needs changing was I crazy to ask my friend to do it?

-When I get further along do I need to have my airbag turned off in my car?

-Wii Active has a lot of jumping, is jumping OK?

-At what point with I stop fearing the bathroom? Every time Ii go in there I am so afraid of seeing blood.

-Anyone else think they would push it out while going #2?

-Where can I find a nutritionist for a reasonable price (like free)?

I don't really need answers to these questions, I am sure I will learn as I go but if you want to let me know it would be interesting to read. I have decided that I am taking tomorrow off, it's going to be a beautiful day so I am going to take my books (What to Expect and the Pregnancy Journal) down to the pool and get some sun and get edumacated.

I also need to looking to going off post for my OB, I have left 3 messages since yesterday at Madigan Army Hospital but no one has called me back, I think I am going to make something up just to be seen...I know it's early but if I need referrals to get off post I need to start that now since that stuff takes forever! I just want to get the ball rolling and step one is having my Primary Care Manager release me from Family Medicine.

This is not going to turn into a pure pregnancy blog, I promise but right now it's all I can think about (and I am totally OK with it).

27 May 2009

thanks mom

Here are the highlights from my conversation with my mother last night:

Ma: Hey honey what's up?

Me: I'm pregnant

Ma: hahahahahahahaha that's so funny, my boy dog was trying to hump my girl dog in the face but she's not old enough to breed so she pushed him off.

Me: okay...and I don't see the reason for the comparison but good to know that's how you think of me

Ma: congratulations but...I know it's not something that happens a lot but you can get a false positive.

Me: Yea I know, that's why I've take 2

Ma: Plus your so early, there's a good chance that you will miscarry.

Me: awesome thanks for reminding me, I've already dealt with that so I am well aware of the possibilities.

Ma: OK

some random small talk including her bitching about us not moving to TN

Me: Yea I am not really excited about stretch marks and getting fat

Ma: Well at your weight you should only gain 15lbs.

Me: Excuse me? I am perfectly healthy and in pretty good shape, it's not like I am a over weight to begin with

Ma: yea well...some total BS that I tuned out

Me: OK wonderful I have to go talk to you later. *click*

Nice huh? The woman who drank, smoked, and drugged her way through 4 pregnancies telling me what I should and should not be doing.

She ruined my night...I was up all night thinking about what a bitch she is then when Moses woke me up at 3:30AM I couldn't fall back asleep because I couldn't get her out of my head. I'm done with that woman. She has some serious growing up to do before I will let her in again.

there is something gross in my bag...

My pregnancy test...I keep looking at it to make sure it doesn't change to "Not Pregnant." Yup, it's positive!!! I'm like 2 weeks pregnant. I finally got a hold of Doc, I told him and he was silent and said "awesome...I have to go back to class." I wish he was here...it's not as fun without him. Oh and D wanted to be the first to know but she's not answering her phone!!!! Cheryl & E Dubs (hehe) I hope you got my text messages before seeing this!!

Holy shit, so now what...I go to Madigan and get blood drawn?

wait, what?

I just realized that I am 4 days late. I am sure that it's not what I am thinking since we only had 2 shots are getting it done (and only one of those was during the optimal week). I am thinking that I may got buy some pee sticks at lunch or after work. Crazy. Just so sad that I wont be able to share it with Doc, he left yesterday and wont be back until June 6th, damn TDY.

There is another perfectly good reason for me to be late, Doc. Him coming home and leaving so quickly, the stress of it all...I guess I wont really know until I know. I have been having crazy vivid dreams and that is not like me at all, I've heard from some people that they had weirdo dreams their entire pregnancy.

I know I shouldn't be because we didn't really try too hard, but I will be so disappointed if I'm not (but a little relived...you know, all those Sam Summers!). I have to try to not think about it, push it out of my head because I am just setting myself up for disappointment.

In other news, I have a phantom toe ailment...I have no idea why but it is throbbing and hard to bend. It's the one right after the big toe and you would be surprised how much you use that toe during the day! I was up for hours last night in pain before I decided to get out of bed and take a fist full of ibuprofen. I need Doc home so he can tell me to ice it and quit complaining.

Remembering the over 1 million

These are just two of the countless images showing the loss felt when a soldier makes the ultimate sacrifice. I chose these for one very good reason, they touch me.

The first is of a dear friend of mine who lost her husband a few weeks shy of their first wedding anniversary. She is an amazing woman and though a lot has changed since 2 June 2007 her love for Shawn never will.

By Lee Shearer/Athens (Ga.) Banner-Herald
Athens (Ga.) Banner-Herald Amanda Dressler, widow of Sgt. Shawn Dressler, 22, who died in Iraq June 2 2007, grieves during her husband's funeral at Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, Ga.

This is an image that made me weep the first time I saw it. I encourage you to read the entire story here. There isn't much else to say about this image, it is so powerful it speaks for itself.

When he died, Regan was on his fourth combat deployment - twice in Afghanistan and twice in Iraq."

my T3 Tourmaline Wet to Dry Flat Iron came

Edited 8/28/2009 - I've noticed this posting always gets Google hits so I wanted to let anyone looking into this iron know that I no longer use it. After the first month I noticed that my hair was severely damaged and I had to cut over 2 inches off.

I was so excited to try it out this morning (I kind of made Doc late to a big REI sale but in my defense I had no idea there was a sale). So I took my shower and since it had been 5 days since my last wash it was a hair washing day, yea I only wash twice a week. After I got out I towel dried and then the time had come! I was excited, it has rhinestones on it...so I'm kind of like a rock star now.

It took about 30-45 minutes to straighten all my hair but it was my first time using it and I am sure that there was still some hair spray in there that I didn't wash out. )Yea, I'm gross but I hate over shampooing, it's so drying. I did get some good stuff today so that shouldn't be a problem. ) The next few times I use it I am sure it will be faster...I am guessing it will drop out at 20 minutes. Anyway, I am very happy with how well it worked. I was afraid that I would have really flat hair like when I blow dry then flat iron but that wasn't the case.

My hair is curly so it usually takes a lot of work to get it straight but this was effortless. Yay! So no more of this:

Old pic (06) but one of the last times I went curly (who loves frizz - apparently I do)

And here is how my hair came out today.
I can't wait for my next appointment, I need some low lights!!

So bottom line, I am a big fan of this iron and I love that I only have to subject to my hair once. I just hope my hair drier doesn't get lonely.

trying to flip the switch

I know that me being sad is not going to bring James back. I know that it's not going to remove any sadness from Katie. I can think about her and pray for her just as easily with a smile on my face. When my father died I hated that it made everyone so sad, I knew it was a crappy situation but I wanted people to enjoy life.

Katie losing James so suddenly just hit too close to home for me. It brought me right back to when my friend Jenny died or even how quickly my father went from talking and laughing to a coma. So what am I going to do to try to put a smile on my face (and maybe yours)? I have decided to share some of the search terms directing people to my little blog here.

  • "start finking army" - anyone have any idea? The searcher was from London so maybe it's a British thing...it dropped them on my post about drinking a lot of wine.
  • "army wife" homecoming bedroom" I think we all know what she was looking for! Unfortunately it dropped her on a post about heart disease, not romantic at all.
  • "in the bedroom" lonely"army wife" I hope this wasn't some loser looking for porn
  • "black martini thirsty shirt" I know I couldn't help you but here's my opinion, you should NEVER wear the kind of shirt you are describing, it just sounds tacky
  • "how does thirsty hippo works" & "thirsty thirsty hippos" When I posted about spilling a drink on someone I had no idea thirsty hippos were so popular, perhaps they spilled on the same woman...
  • And finally my personal favorite...not because it's funny but because it's what I would he had I never met Doc: "marc savard's wife pictures"
And there you have it, not as funny as some of you but not as creepy either (thank God!).

R.I.P.

A friend's husband passed away last night. He was battling Leukemia but it was still very sudden and unexpected. He had been responding well to his treatments but this last cycle was a problem.

Katie is an amazing woman and the love she and James shared over came many obstacles starting with their age difference (as he was much older than she), their race difference, and his military service. She has been a pillar of strength through all of this and has been an inspiration to me and all of the other women on the message board where we all became friends.

From how she described him James was an amazing man. He was drafted into the Army in 1972 and served in Vietnam and 36 years later (this past winter) he eventually retired. He survived multiple wars and deployments and was a service member to be revered. The army was lucky to have him put on that uniform for the past 36 years.

He is survived by his wife Katie, his two sons from a previous marriage, and his grandson.

Please keep Katie and her family in your prayers.

Thank you James, we lost a true American Hero last night.

how much longer?

First I want to say that my layout is done, after lots of changes and frustration and Google searches I am happy with it. And I am excited to say I did it my self! I downloaded a scrap kit and from there I went a little nuts. I am no expert but if you want me to work on something for you and don't mind waiting just ask, I could use the practice.

OK now for my real post. When someone tells me what their husband does for a living it never even crosses my mind to ask them how much longer he is planning to stay in his chosen profession. It's just a dumb question in my mind, but apparently not everyone thinks like me. Here is a typical conversation (note the italicized words are what I am thinking):

Social Idiot (SI): So what does your husband do?

Me: He's a medic in the army.

SI: Oh really how much longer does he have? (Every fricken time..."how much longer")

Me: Well that's a general question, how much longer does he have for what? On earth? Until he takes over the world? Until the rash clears up (OK that's just a joke hehe).
Well, he just reenlisted for 5 more years so we'll go from there.

SI: Oh really? (sounding very concerned and sad/shocked)

Me: Yes, he loves his job and he's really good at it. And it's not like he was drafted into this, he made the choice to join over three years ago and have not once regretted it.

SI: Well good for him (now she doesn't know what to say and will eventually change the subject).

ME: No shit good for him. This isn't prison it's his career and when you make the most out of it it's very rewarding. Now go crawl under a rock and leave me alone.

I guess I will never understand people. Next time someone asks me that question I am going to ask them right back so they can hear just how dumb they sound.

20 May 2009

all by myself

I don't really know about this layout...seems a little too "party girl" for me. I will keep it for a bit and see if it grows on me. But I am glad to say I made this one and didn't just randomly find it.

he's picking up his ticket

I was lucky to get an extra week with Doc before he goes on TDY (Temporary Duty) next week but he's still leaving for 2 weeks! He just got home, can't I have him for a little bit longer? But he needs to keep his medical certifications up so he really doesn't have a choice and 2 weeks is nothing. I just hope Moses doesn't get too confused. Soon after this he will get block leave and then I hope to know a little bit more about when he leaves for his 3-4 month training in GA...ugh. If he leaves in July then he can just get it over with buuuuut the ball is on July 31st and in the 3 years, 4 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days that I've been a military wife I've never gone to a ball. Doc really wants to avoid the ball at all costs so I am sure he'll be letting everyone know that he's ready to go ASAP!

I wish I could say that we have big plans for his leave but we don't. I have to work and he just wants to sit at home. He's so boring! Maybe his leave before next deployment we will get to go home, that would be nice. He should be prompted as soon as he's done with the training (and there is a promotion board) so that will give us a little more money to plan trips without the fear of spending all of our money and having something come up. That will be so nice. He hasn't been home in 2.5 years and I know everyone there misses him.

Here is me being that wife: I really hope he gets promoted before my ID expires because I want his new rank on it. Yup, I said it feel free to throw rocks at me for it. :)

rain rain go away

I am ready for the summer already! Everyone told me that once summer comes I would love it here, well last summer was OK but I did not fall in love. I hear the summer before last they had over 100 days without rain, now that I could deal with. We've had some great days but I seem to forget those on days like today when Doc (who is still working half days) asks me if he can turn the heat on. (And yes he asks, I am the keeper of the heat.) I am so with you Sam, the weather kills my moods.

I am not sure if I've mentioned this before but my coworker is moving to OH to marry her boyfriend this summer and Doc and I are planning on renting out her house. We can't really make any real plans because we are waiting to find out how demanding her ex husband is going to be about her moving her daughter out of state. We are waiting for the paperwork to be filed with the court before we can do anything which was fine until I called my apartment complex and learned that our lease is up at the end of July and not August/September like I thought! Crap. So finger crossed that it all goes smoothly or we'll be shelling out a lot of extra money to be month to month for a bit.

I am getting nervous about renting from a friend. We are both in the same mindset as far as the rent which is good because I don't think it covers her mortgage but I am not going to over pay. I did hear from my other coworker that the washer and dryer are on the fritz and M isn't sure if she wants to replace them. Ummmm That's a deal breaker ladies (30 Rock anyone?). But really, I will not move somewhere with out a W/D! We are hoping to have a baby and will need to do A LOT of laundry. She assumes that we could buy our own but it's not really smart for us since we have no idea where we will live next. So we still need to work out the kinks. But it's a cute house, a ranch with 3 beds and only one bath (sad) but a great 3 seasons room and a fenced in back yard! Moses will be in heaven. I really hope it all works out.

And finally, you should all go here and vote for Karrie, Wife of a Wounded Marine. She's got a great story to tell and does it with such honesty. It will only take like 5 seconds of you life!

45 more minutes of pretending to work then off to yoga for my last intro class!

18 May 2009

now it's summer

OK not really, but the first day of summer kind of sucks for me (my dad's birthday & this year, father's day) so I will declare today the first day of summer. What makes today any different than yesterday you ask? Well the case of Sam Adams Summer Ale in my fridge tells me it's summer.

For a month I have been readying facebook updates talking about everyone enjoying Sam Summer back home but I couldn't find it out here until today. Apparently they are using horse and buggy for cross country delivery. Like I said, TTC is kind of on the back burner so now I am free to enjoy.

Since I still don't have my hours back at work I am still on a no Monday work schedule today is my day off. It's a little nice to have the house to myself while Doc is at work, I love having him home but whenever I am home so is he! I finally watched last week's Greek, the Desperate House Wives finally, and now I am catching up on Days. Doc is on his way home now so I hope I am able to get through this episode before he gets back...

This morning I got back on the horse...I started back on my Wii fit and hoping Doc will want to go for a run this evening, I suck at running and I need his inspiration! My weight isn't up too much from a few months ago which is good, I guess but if you remember I wasn't very happy with that weight then. :( So today I did all the yoga moves and most of the strength training moves some balance games and a few aerobic things. The balance games because I needed to beat Doc's scores and the aerobic because I was bored...so that's it for today!

17 May 2009

1 out of 3, blah!

So our fun filled Red Sox weekend is over and while the Sox lost the series 2 games to 1 it was still a fun weekend. As I predicted Doc was not in a picture taking mood for the most part but was drunk on Saturday so I was able to get a few. I don't know why he hates pictures so much, when he's being a normal human being he's quite handsome.

Taken at the game this afternoon, for 2 games we sat on the club level and think it's worth the extra $5 but we didn't get any sun.

The rest of these pictures are from the game last night.

Beer garden before the game (this picture make me want to cringe, back on the workout train tomorrow)

Doc and his buddies from work...That hot dog was the nastiest thing I have ever seen.

He really does like me, or so he says.

I have like 20 of these self takes where he's being goofy and I am laughing my butt off. And I only look stoned, I was laughing too hard to open my eyes.

Oh but FYI for anyone going to the Mariners, if you want to be stoned the dude with the pony tail selling programs outside the main gate "has some great connections from the fans who come in from Canada" and apparently is always ready to sell a $20 bag of weed. Why he felt the need to tell us these things I have no idea, I guess we look like stoners.

Look how cute, no wonder the girls at the ice cream stand were hitting on him even after learning that he's married!

Workouts start tomorrow and PLEASE help me with this, I am going to include whatever my last workout was as a footer in all my future posts, if I am slacking call me out! I bought new shorts after my size 6s would barely button and the new ones are size 1o...in a month I want to think about what a waste of money it was to get them.

OK that's about it - we had a great weekend but are soooooooo tired.

15 May 2009

Sunshine!!

It's not even noon and I can already say that today is a good day. I have no idea why I am in such a good mood but it's been like this all morning, I didn't even hit snooze at 6 when my alarm went off. (That is huge for me.) Work is work but I do love some of the people I work with, without them I would be miserable. We are having a BBQ for lunch.

There is one thing bothering me and it may be a bit of TMI but I don't care :) The ladies who have been through a deployment might know what I am talking about...the post deployment stomach. DH is trying to eat the foods that he has always loved eating and they have never bothered him but now it's like torture for him. We went through this last time and I know it will pass but with him feeling sick our TTC has been put on the back burner. But who knows, I may be pregnant at this very moment...

In nongross news, it is going to be a BEAUTIFUL weekend here in Hell, I mean Seattle. We really lucked out with the Red Sox series. I hope Doc is cooperative and lets me get some good pictures of us. I have to go out tomorrow afternoon and get some shorts for Sunday's day game (sad, I am too curvy [fat] for the shorts I have). I do have to admit, when it is nice here it is REALLY nice, and sunset at 8:40 is great too.

In geek news I am a level 17 warcraft player...whatever that means. All I know is that I shoot ice and make cloth. There was one moment that we scary, Doc and I stopped into some inn or something in warcraft land and as soon as I got in there at least 4 dudes were following me around and giving me stuff and trying to talk to me! Creepy, and they didn't even know that I am hot in real life (hehe). But it made me really uncomfortable, my heart rate doubled and I felt a little violated. I know it's a video game and they can't really get to me but damn, it brought back a lot of feelings that I have had in a long time. I think I have mentioned that I am a date rape survivor before and while this was nothing like that it made me feel venerable and exposed in a similar way. I may have to make a male character. I don't play much but when I do it's to have fun with Doc (more him than me) and I don't want to have to be thinking about all that.

So that is pretty much it...Doc's been home to a full week and it's been amazing, even if the rug is covered in dog hair - I can vacuum all I want when he leaves again.

14 May 2009

love it

You know what I love about pay day? (We are both paid twice a month...and USAA gives it to us a day early so yes it's payday.) Anyway, what I like beast about payday is breaking out my trusty budget spreadsheet and paying bills. I LOVE when I can adjust the balances and see our total (ginormous) debt shrink.

We made a big milestone with one of my student loans, we are now contributing more to the principle than the interest. That's a big step...so at this rate they should be paid off by the time I am collecting social security (who am I kidding there will be no SS...).

I really need to get Doc to do the bills one month, if something ever happened to my he would be lost, he just has no interest in it - he's happy with where we are financially and acknowledges my role in that. :) I can't take all the credit, MS Excel has been a life savor.

I am not sure how much I would enjoy bill paying if we didn't have enough to cover them all and I know that we are blessed. Just last week we had to witness the wife in line ahead of us at the commissary put back several jars of baby food after counting her cash and realizing she didn't have enough. (I was torn about this one, should I have offered her money? I would have loved to have helped as much as I could but offering to do so isn't always well received.)

So there is it; life is good, bills are paid, and we are going to 3 Red Sox games in Seattle this weekend!!!

13 May 2009

Yay!

I am a happy girl, it's not just because Boston had another hat trick last night (Bruins, Celtics and Sox won...Sox and C's in comebacks at the very end) but Doc told me he's not leaving next week, he's leaving the week after. It still sucks that he'll be gone for 2 weeks but I am excited that it's not so soon after he got home.

OK back to hockey, why isn't America watching this game? It is edge-of-your-seat exciting! And these men aren't making $28 million dollars a year so they actually play with heart. Take for example my fake boy friend, Marc Savard...look at how happy he is after scoring a goal last night:
Don't you just want to eat him? But don't we need him in game 7. (But really, he's super cute and really funny and a great hockey player and....whoa Amber, snap out of it!) Anyway I LOVE him.

Stop judging me, it's not like Doc doesn't have his sports star crush...he's in love with Jonathan Papelbon.

Yes, you read that right, he's got a man crush and he's secure enough to admit it. (Don't go calling the don't ask don't tell police it's strictly platonic...I hope).

Such emotion...love it.

So that was our night last night, and after Doc passed out on the couch I was able to watch American Idol, I DVRed it but had already cast some votes for Danny, I love him! I know Adam can sing but that type of scream-singing is not my thing, I do like that he's being true to who he is and I think it's a great thing that he could be the first openly gay winner. This country is taking big steps in the right direction. (I try not to get political here but I am passionate about this one - love is love.)

I am all over the place today...a blog about hockey and gay rights, this one is a weirdo Google search waiting to happen!

12 May 2009

one more thing

My analytics program let me know that I had a visitor from Ft. Bragg who came to my blog via Google by searching "I don't remember who I was before army wife." If you're still reading and want to talk please send me an email. You read 6 pages so I am thinking that maybe you related to me a bit. I totally know what you are going through, we get lost in this life and sometimes you just need someone to talk to about it.

Big hugs!

blah, back to work

So the honeymoon is over, Doc and I are both back to work today. He should only have a half day but I am here for the long haul. It has been a great past few days. We haven't really done anything but that's what makes it so great. A trip to the commissary here, Fred Meyer's run there with a lot of doing nothing in between. He's been amazing, while I had to deal with his gear on the floor he did clean up after dinner more than once...if you've been around for a while you know that this is not normal - but I hope it continues!

There is something that I did that I am not proud of, something that I really don't want to tell you but I feel that I should - I have a World of Warcraft account. I know, what a dork but Doc really likes to play and he wanted me to play with him so I gave in. It's OK, I am not big on computer games so I won't get sucked in like him but every now and then what the hell, I'll kill some gate crashers (or something like that). Don't worry, I wont let my Harvest Moon Ranch fall to the wayside on Wii - I have livestock to attend to there!

That's pretty much it. We are still working on Moses, he's having a hard time with Doc coming home. He's very confused about it but I am sure it will pass...just in time for Doc to leave again next week!

All in all, I am happy. We are staying at Ft. Lewis indefinitely (more on this later) and working on a little tax deduction of our own. What is better than that?

09 May 2009

another one while he naps

This homecoming was much different than last, I was a vet this time. There was a young girl there picking up her husband from their first so I offered to take some pictures for her, I know how much I LOVE my homecoming pictures from our first deployment.

We got the word that the bus had arrived so we went out side to find our guys (nothing like the homecomings you find on TV for us). I saw Doc walking across the lawn and I ran over and gave him a kiss said hi then ran back over to the new wife. Is that weird? That is really all I needed, I saw him and he was fine so I was good. It was worth it, when she saw her husband and breathed the first breath of relief I was glad I was there to get some pictures. As for us, Doc would not allow any until we were home and ever then he was being a dork...I took like 15 of them and got one usable picture!

Moses was happy to see daddy home but when he calmed down he withdrew a bit. Poor guy was so confused and it will take him some time to warm up to Doc again completely - unfortunately we don't have time. We have about 10 days until he's gone for another 2 weeks then maybe a month before he's gone for the better part of the year. But for now I have this:

Don't you just want to pinch his cheeks? Seriously, who sleeps like that?
He would be pissed if he saw this so shhhhh!

guess what

Doc is home...life is good!

not just today

Many of my readers are military spouses or former military spouses and I just wanted to wish them all a happy military spouse appreciation day! From one to another, I know that this life would be so much harder with out our little network. No matter what branch we all are part of something amazing and I feel so blessed to have this life and to have all of you to share it with!

if he only knew (may be TMI but that has never stopped me)

If these boys of ours had any idea the lengths we go to for them. After narrowly escaping death when my windshield wiper decided to defect from my car I made it to my appointment.

OK I wasn't really close to death but I couldn't see a thing, luckily I was able to pull into a mechanic right away and proceed to pay $17 for a $8 windshield wiper.

Whatever, I got there and waited 15 minutes (which I hate - if you can't keep an appointment don't make one!) and then went into the torture room. Sure it's looks nice, smells nice, and the music is nice but that is just to throw you off.

I will spare you the gory details but 20 minutes later my, ummm, lower area was throbbing and my checking account was $74 smaller. I should feel normal in about 24 hours and in 4 weeks I get to do it all again.

I hope you like it as much as I do Doc!

zit!

I know this is going to sound bad to anyone who has ever struggled with acne but I have to say it anyway. I have a ZIT! I haven't had a random zit in....well it's been so long that I can't even remember. Sure there is one week a month where I get a small little something but it's never big and never stays for long. You could have picked me off the floor this morning when I saw it, for a moment I was convinced it was a mosquito bite but nope, I have a zit.

I know, stress. That is also the reason I woke up every hour last night. I say woke up but in reality I shot up from a dead sleep, looked at the clock, repositioned (waited for Moses to reposition) and went back to sleep. All night...eventually Moses was in the middle of the bed and I was sleeping diagonally around him, I am not complaining because it was nice to have him there.

Ugh, it was not a good morning - at least my bloodshot eyes are gone and I've done a pretty good job covering mini Mt Rainier on my forehead. Maybe my afternoon will be better...oh wait that's right, I am starting the afternoon off with a Brazilian Wax!

I will just call today a wash.

seriously, i don't care

I am very irritable today...like really bad. I am also absent minded, I left my slider open this morning so I am hoping that Moses is doing his bad ass guard dog thing otherwise Doc's precious entertainment system may be gone...And by open I don't mean unlocked I mean it's just the screen deterring all the wonderful people I live around from coming in. Moses is pretty good at barking at everyone who walks by so I am not too worried about it.

Now for what I seriously don't care about - YOUR CYCLE! TTC is a great thing and I understand that sometimes it's a frustrating thing but do you really think letting the entire Internet in on exactly where your egg should be sitting will help? I don't. And the latest ticker I've seen actually has a visual, well here is one I snagged off a message board:

Really? I need to know this? No, I really don't. It's no secrete that Doc and I will be TTC just as soon as I can get at him (seriously...if you see a Santa Fe parked on I-5 just keep driving my friend) but if it doesn't happen that quickly I will start tracking my cycles. I will not feel the need to post it for all the world to see because I am not delusional, I know you don't care.

OK, maybe if it was a TTC message board it would be OK but it was not!

Perhaps it is the stress that is making me so irritable (if I had the ticker up you would know that it has nothing to do with my cycle) (OK and I posted this last week - which I admit is a bit TMI but I did not supply a visual!). Once he's home I can start to relax.

Have I told you before the worst time of deployment for a spouse is right before he leaves and then right before he comes home? Well it is, for this spouse anyway.

I am done - and I'm kinda sorry if I have offended people by saying this but I am not 100% sorry because, really, I don't care where your stupid eggs are today.
