I am one half of a Massachusetts couple living in Arizona (or as I call it, hell). I feel lost most of the time. Between being a mom and a caregiver to my husband with his TBI issues I sometimes feel tossed aside. My family adores me, that's not the issue - I am just struggling finding a place where I can adore myself in this new life.
I am more than ready to trade in the hot Arizona desert (and by hot I mean we are constantly at 115ยบ through out the summer) for the four seasons of New England.
You may hear my refer to myself as a Mass-hole (endearing term for someone born in Massachusetts usually referring to our far superior driving) as well as a Rhode Islander. Both are true, born and raised in a Massachusetts city bordering Rhode Island I got the best of both worlds. I went to college in Rhode Island and decided to stay until at 26 the army took me away. Still registered to vote in Rhode Island I am technically a Rhode Islander. Both states are my home, I love them equally but when all is said and done we will settle back in Massachusetts. You better believe that I will be sure that my girls always have a place in their hearts for Rhode Island.
